Celebrating a Successful March of Dimes Walk for Babies at Celebration Pointe

On Saturday, March 14, over 4,000 attendees from across Alachua County gathered at Celebration Pointe to march in support of healthier babies at the 2018 March of Dimes Walk for Babies. As the host and signature sponsor for the life-saving event, Celebration Pointe was thrilled to see such a tremendous turnout as folks rallied together for this important cause. With the help of both local and corporate businesses, we were able to raise a grand total of $420,000 to go towards fighting premature births and birth defects in newborns. This annual event showcases the power of the Gainesville community to unite together for this important mission.

Hosted by Celebration Pointe for the first time, this year’s March for Babies brought some exciting changes to the program. Walkers and runners alike flocked to the Celebration Pointe Grand Prize Giveaway, where attendees could spin a giant wheel loaded with gifts from Celebration Pointe businesses, including Bass Pro Shops, Tommy Hilfiger, Regal Cinemas, Kilwins Chocolate, MidiCi’s Pizza, and The Nail Spa. Every participant was also entered in a larger giveaway with over $500 worth of prizes, including two Tommy Hilfiger suitcases. Congrats to Emily P. for taking home the big prize! In addition to their participation in the Celebration Pointe Grand Prize Giveaway, Regal Cinemas donated $18,000 to the March of Dimes with the money raised from their $3 preview days!

Celebration Pointe thanks the Alachua County community for showing such strong support at our first March for Babies, which saw double the amount of participants compared to last year. At Celebration Pointe, we set out to create a place where the community could gather and Celebrate. On Saturday, we saw our vision in action in support of this amazing cause.
