How do you know it’s officially the holiday season? (Besides simply hearing Mariah Carey everywhere you go…) Around here, we officially say, “‘Tis the season,” after the Celebration Pointe tree is lit up! Now that it is, we’re hosting plenty of Gainesville holiday events that will give you a great reason to come gaze up at the tree in all its glory. Heads up (literally!), it’s gigantic.
While people who don’t live in Florida may be cherishing their final days of outdoor enjoyment, Gainesvillians know that November & December nights can be the perfect temperature for outdoor activities (socially distanced, of course). At Celebration Pointe, we have no shortage of outside events to help get you into a festive mood.
Bring your blanket, grab hot chocolate from Kilwins and cozy up by the fire pit in the Promenade for any of our concert series. We have three to choose from: Music Under the Stars, Jazz on the Green (the 2nd Saturday of every month, 7–9 PM) and Playlist @ the Pointe (the 4th Friday of every month, 7–9 PM). Artists and musical stylings vary each month, but you’re sure to hear a holiday tune or two because it’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Experience the magic of meeting Santa Claus while taking every proper precaution. No child should miss their opportunity to meet Ol’ Saint Nick and deliver their Christmas wish list directly to the man who decides if they’re naughty or nice. That’s why Bass Pro Shops has set up one of the best holiday family activities in Gainesville: Santa’s Wonderland. You can reserve your “Contactless Claus” visit with Santa through December 24. It’s also a surefire way to end up on the nice list!
If you follow any Celebration Pointe social media pages, you may be familiar with Gnomen Rockwell, our friendly neighborhood gnome who gets so excited about holiday sales that he can’t help but share the news with you. Gnomen knows where all the deals are ahead of time. And you might even score some gift cards or other holiday specials if you keep a sharp eye out! Searching for Gnomen around our property and our website is one of our favorite holiday activities in Gainesville. He arrives on Black Friday, so stay tuned to our Instagram and Facebook accounts to see where he pops up next.

It’s Black Friday All Month Long at Bass Pro Shops. Book your Santa visit and then shop these deals through November 22. Palmetto Moon’s Christmas Shop is open and has stylish Southern gifts and accessories for the whole family, from the latest YETI gear to brands like Columbia and Simply Southern. And if you hurry, you can still take advantage of Tommy Hilfiger’s Holiday Kickoff, which includes up to 70% OFF the entire store through November 19.
